by repurposing wedding flower arrangements in the Columbia Gorge
Spreading Hope & Love
In 2020, Gorge Blooms of Hope was founded by the Hume family in Hood River, Oregon, as a way to serve and give back to our community. By repurposing beautiful floral arrangements from weddings throughout the Columbia River Gorge, we give these flowers a second life - delivering them to long-term care residents and the elderly in our community.
Our hope is simple - to spread a little love, joy, and beauty to those who could use it most.

How does donation work?
It’s your big day, and you’ve decided to keep the love flowing by donating your flowers—you’re awesome!
So, how does it work? It’s simple and there’s no pickup or service fee!
Just contact us with the date of your wedding. The day before, we’ll drop off buckets at your wedding venue. At the end of the celebration, your wedding coordinator can simply place the flowers in the buckets for us.
The next morning, we’ll pick them up, give the flowers a fresh new arrangement, and deliver them to local senior living and long-term care communities throughout the Columbia Gorge.
Your flowers made your day beautiful. Now they can make someone else’s day, too.
Local Flower Stand
In addition to collecting and delivering donated flowers, we grow our own dahlias right at home in our family dahlia patch! We use flowers from our garden to supplement wedding donations, and during peak dahlia season, we make weekly deliveries to local senior living and long-term care communities in Hood River.
In 2026, we opened a roadside farm stand in Hood River where we sell our homegrown flowers. Proceeds from the stand help cover the costs of growing our dahlias and allow us to continue sharing flowers throughout our community.
